Thomas H. Redfield, Jr., great grandson of the American Impressionist Edward Willis Redfield, was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania in 1959. Upon graduating from the University of California at Santa Barbara, Redfield held a variety of jobs including work as a commercial fisherman, longshoreman, and commercial diver. The beauty found living and working by the sea and out of doors inspired many of the images that Redfield has created over the years. Extensive travel in South America, the South Pacific and the northeastern coast of the United States has also contributed to the subjects of his landscapes which can be found in private collections and in office buildings of corporate Los Angeles.
